Anyways thank you for mentioning ‘Feel Good’ too, I also totally loathe it! It infuriates me how Mae just wallows in her neurosis and sticks around with this woman who is so shitty to her.

It sucks to finally watch a show featuring a woman that you look like and it turns out she’s her own worst enemy the whole time.

It’s also such a depressing message for the gender non-conforming lesbians who relate to her because her character encourages the idea that being gnc = being totally insecure and dysphoric. Instead of showing girls that are non-conventional as confident and resilient.

The 1995 “The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls In Love” is one of the few lesbian (coming of age) movies I actually recommend. It’s got a similar tongue-in-cheek vibe as “But I’m a Cheerleader”. AND it has cute ending. It’s also on Netflix right now!

(I only recently realized that I’m a lesbian.) I always liked depiction of lesbians in game franchise Borderlands. In my fav game Borderlands Pre-Sequel there is butch Janey, who hits on playable character Athena. In Tales From The Borderlands Janey and Athena are couple, they have minor plot through game with healthy resolution. And both are awesome.

Surprised to see the Pre-Sequel (TPS) mentioned here! But yeah, in the annals of lesbian culture, they are (were) fun. TPS was probably the most panned of the Borderlands series but my favorite (maybe because of Janey and the Australian accents?) Then BL3 had a big DLC focused on a gay wedding, which was good to see. Thanks for the memories!

Love Gentleman Jack. The movie Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same is also fun.

My wife and I love Gentleman Jack!

Have you seen Debs?

Romantic comedy spy movie? Great soundtrack and adorable ending?

It is great! When Night Is Falling, is also great but sadly has a brief & totally unessesary M/F scene, otherwise well worth it. I agree 100% about that Mae Martin series, brutally disappointing.

Nothing can beat Gentleman Jack, can it? ;-)

I have seen D.E.B.S. and I liked it, but I am not familiar with When Night Is Falling, I am going to check it out.

When Night Is Falling is Canadian and from the 90's so it is like a glimpse of another reality. Quirky and beautifully filmed. I think it is also an excellent story of a woman questioning her traditional / religious worldview, plus it has one of the best lines " in hetrospect" in a conversation when she means to say retrospect. <3 it!
